Employee Referral Bonus

We employ great people, and we’re pretty proud of that. Generally, great people know great people!

The Internal Referral Bonus program (the “Program”) offers a one-time referral payment to full-time, permanent employees, for successfully referring friends and industry peers.

Who You Can Refer

An employee referral is defined as someone with whom you have a personal relationship with (friend or former colleague) and can vouch for their former or current work experience and skill set. Individuals who reach out to you via LinkedIn and/or other social networks solely for the purpose of securing an interview/opportunity do not count as referrals.

The Reward

We believe that you know great people so we’d love to meet your network! If you think you know someone who would make a fantastic addition to the OneLocal team we want to hear from you. In exchange, we will provide a payment of up to $1,000 (CAD) to YOU for a successful referral. From time to time, the People and Culture team may boost the bonus program temporarily for specialized positions.

How to refer someone

Bonus and Payment

  • You are a current permanent team member of OneLocal and remain on payroll at the time of the payment.

  • You are a team member up to and including Senior Manager level.  Directors and above are not eligible for referral bonuses.

  • You are not the direct or indirect manager of the referral, nor have direct influence over the hiring decision.

  • Members of the People and Talent team are not eligible

  • Referral bonuses are only available for successful referrals for permanent, full-time positions.

  • Former employees, interns or contractors of OneLocal are not eligible candidates.

  • Your referrals are people that have not already applied to the OneLocal careers page, engaged by OneLocal’s recruiting or leadership team in the past 6 months (at the date of last contact).

  • If your referred candidate is hired, they must remain employed with OneLocal for a minimum of three months (past probation).

Email or Slack your referral to the Talent Acquisition team and/or the hiring manager of the role - including a resume is ideal.

Ensure your referral does not submit an application prior to you sending their resume to us.

  • OneLocal will only issue payments for successful referrals. A successful referral requires the new team member to complete 3 months of employment.

  • Your referral will also need to verify during the interview process that they were referred by you in order for the referral to be considered valid.

  • Once your referral has completed 3 months of employment, OneLocal will process the internal referral bonus after the probationary period ends.  All statutory payroll deductions will apply.

  • Please note the referral payments are based on CAD.
