Personal Days

We understand that each and every person that joins OneLocal has their own unique needs when it comes to personal needs and wellbeing.  Because of this, we provide employees 5 Personal Days per calendar year, in addition to your annual vacation entitlements.

Personal days can be used for things like:

  • Sick days

  • Mental health days

  • Attending personal or health appointments

  • Bereavement leave

  • Providing you salary continuance during unpaid leaves such as jury duty 

  • Religious holidays (not already recognized as one of the Ontario mandatory civic holiday)

Important Notes about Personal Days

  • They should only be requested in half-day or single-day increments; they are not intended to be used for more than one consecutive day

  • If you need to use your Personal Days more than one consecutive day due to illness or injury, please note that OneLocal may request a doctor’s note after three consecutive days away

  • They cannot be carried-over from year-to-year

  • Unused personal days will not be paid out at the end of the year

  • Please try to give your manager as much notice as possible when you want to use a personal day, but in some cases (for example sick days and mental health days) this may not be possible and that’s definitely okay

To request to use a Personal Day, please submit a time off request in BambooHR, by selecting “Personal Day” as the time off type and reach out to your manager so they can ensure business continuity.
